Franklin City Schools Calamity Day Communications
While the weather is still beautiful, we know colder days are coming and want to update students and families on how the district will communicate about school closings and delays. Please be aware that there are changes from prior years.
When the district has a delay or will be closed, we will notify you in several ways:
- Website and social media: The earliest notifications will be posted on the district website, www.franklincityschools.com, and our social media pages https://www.facebook.com/FranklinCitySchools.
- Television: Delay and closing information will be sent to Cincinnati TV stations for posting (Channels 5, 9, 12, and 19), and will also be on Cincinnati radio stations, primarily 700 WLW. Information about Franklin City Schools delays and closing WILL NOT appear on Dayton TV or radio stations. This is a change from prior years.
- Blackboard Connect: Families will receive a Blackboard Connect notification, but in the interest of courtesy, calls will NOT occur before 6 a.m. Please check with your child’s school building to ensure that your Blackboard Connect information is up to date. Parents/Guardians can login to the Blackboard Connect portal to add multiple numbers and emails. To set up an account, you will need to know the student ID and phone number that is recorded at the building level.
