FHS students win 13 prizes at the Miamisburg Student Art Show

Franklin High School students took thirteen awards at the 30th Annual Miamisburg Art Gallery Student Art Show including Best of Show and the President’s Award.
Twenty-four FHS students entered 41 pieces; prizes were awarded in eight categories: still life, portrait, landscape, computer-generated art, figurines, animals, dimensional art, and geometric design/other.
Franklin’s winners were:
Best of Show: Arebella Lloyd, for her untitled portrait painting
President’s Award: Callie Imundo, for her Star Wars drawing
Portraits: Brooke Wallace, second place; Callie Imundo, fourth place; Maddy Back, honorable mention
Still Life: Isabel Rogers, third place and fourth place; Sam Hopper, honorable mention
Animals: Gracie Abner, second place; Arebella Lloyd, Sam Hopper, and Brenna Clifford, honorable mentions
Landscape: Natalie Reed, honorable mention
The 2021 event showcases work by students from Carlisle, Franklin, John Lazares Alternative School, Madison, Springboro, Valley View, and Waynesville.
The gallery, 16 N. Main, Miamisburg, will host the show through March 28 and is offering extended hours: Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, 5:30 to 8 p.m.; and Fridays and Saturdays, Noon to 8 p.m. Franklin Night at the show is Wed., March 24, 5:30 to 8 p.m.
