Freshman Orientation

Aug 3, 2020
at 12:00 am

Good afternoon,

We hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer and that you're excited about the upcoming school year. It may or may not be difficult to believe but the FHS Class of 2024 is about to begin their high school career and we are thrilled to meet them!

Our initial meeting will take place during their freshman orientation on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Orientation will be divided into two sessions. Students with a last name that begins with the letters A-K will meet during the morning session from 8:30-10:00 am. Students with a last name that begins with the letters L-Z will meet during the afternoon session from 12:30-2:00 pm. Please note that this orientation is designed for students. We will hold a separate orientation for parents during our annual open house.

During orientation, we will focus on providing our incoming freshmen with important information to help them navigate our various policies and procedures. Students will also receive a tour of the building to help them become more familiar with how to navigate between classrooms and common areas. Lastly, students should have received their schedules in the mail during the week of June 29th. Students should bring their schedule with them as they learn more about the building, our bell schedule, and where their classrooms will be located throughout the school day.

Due to the current status of COVID-19 and the Governor's recent mask requirement, all students attending freshman orientation will be required to wear a mask. In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible, we will also incorporate additional safety protocols for this occasion. To help us get a better idea of the total number of students who plan to attend freshman orientation, we ask that you please complete and submit this RSVP: Freshman Orientation 2020 form. Please RSVP no later than 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.

We are so incredibly excited to meet the FHS Class of 2024 and we are looking forward to helping them prepare for a successful high school career. Freshman orientation is going to be a great first step on what is sure to be a remarkable journey!
