Information for the Class of 2020

Please see below for a Message for the Class of 2020 from Mrs. Fromm:
FAQ
Please make sure you are checking the FAQ on a regular basis so you stay informed.  Here are a couple of important points for Seniors this week.

2nd Semester Exams

FHS will NOT administer 2nd Semester Exams for the 2020-2021 school year.  Credit for the 2nd Semester will be determined on 3rd and 4th Quarter Grades, with 4th Quarter being Pass/Fail.

Seniors Last Day for Coursework

May 7th will be the last day of digital instruction for Seniors.  Since we are not administering exams, Seniors will be required to complete coursework assigned April 13th-May 7th in order to receive credit for the 4th Quarter.

GradPoint

If you are a student that is working on credit recovery in GradPoint, you are still responsible to complete this work.  You do not get a “pass” on work for classes you previously failed prior to the school closure. Please make sure you are logging in and completing your GradPoint courses.  If you are having issues with your device, or you are a Senior and need one, the technology department is at FHS in the main office on Wednesday’s from 11am-Noon. GET IT DONE!

Graduation

At this time, Graduation is still on as scheduled for Friday May 15th at 7pm at Princeton Pike Church of God. As of 4/1/20, we have tentatively reserved Princeton Pike Church of God for Friday June 5th at 7pm  as a back-up date for Graduation.   Please be prepared that WHEN we have graduation, regardless of the date, that the number of guests for graduates could be limited to 2 guests.  We will make every effort to livestream the event for other guests unable to attend.  We will share additional guidance and information in the coming weeks.

CAPS AND GOWNS: As we get closer to graduation, we will have a date at FHS for students to pick-up Caps and Gowns.

If you have not ordered your Cap and Gown, you can do so online at:  www.graduateserviceinc.com

Prom

At this time, Prom scheduled for May 1st is cancelled.  We know this is disappointing, but at this time it is the smartest and safest decision.  As of 4/1/20, we have tentatively rescheduled Prom for Saturday June 27th at FHS.  This is contingent on the state ban on large group gatherings being lifted by this time.  It is highly suggested people not purchase anything for Prom until we get closer to the new date.  Stay tuned for further details.

Prom Parade

On Friday May 1st, we hope to plan a “parade” of sorts for students and teachers in their cars in the FHS parking lot.  Stay tuned for details!!

Community Service

For seniors still needing community service, we know this can be a challenge with school closed and many local agencies where you would donate your time also closed.  Plus, there is not one here to track the hours. Per Dr. Sander on 3/16/20, if the school closure prevents students from completing their hours, this graduation requirement can be waived for members of the Class of 2020.

Scholarship Applications

Thank you to everyone who submitted scholarship applications.  We are in the process of reviewing these applications, and will share additional information in the weeks to come related to the scholarship process.

We hope you are all staying safe and well and enjoying the sunshine when you can. Please do not hesitate to reach out to myself, Mr. V, Mrs. Arlinghaus or Mrs. Wright if you have any questions or concerns about coursework, graduation, scholarships, etc.
