Originally from Middletown, Ohio, Lori is a proud mother of four amazing children, the wife of an incredible husband, and the grandmother of her first granddaughter. She graduated from Madison High School, earned a B.S. in Secondary Education from Ohio University, and an M.A. in Education at City University, Seattle, Washington, and earned her principal licensure from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. Lori has worked in education for thirty years, and during her summer session at Ohio University, she had the opportunity to work in Yellowstone National Park. This experience gave her the motivation she needed to move further out west to Auburn, Washington, where she was hired as a teacher for the Auburn School District. Lori has worked in three states, four school districts, and five schools overall.

  • Cascade Middle School, Auburn, Washington
  • Auburn High School, Auburn, Washington
  • Madison High School, Middletown, Ohio
  • Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School, Fort Collins, Colorado
  • Edgewood High School, Trenton, Ohio

She started her career in education at Cascade Middle School as a math teacher. After serving as the Academic Dean at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School, she went back to her Middletown home to take care of her mother. After working as an assistant principal at Edgewood for the last eight years, she currently resides in West Middletown.

Lori is thrilled to be stepping into the role of the new Franklin High School Principal. She is eager to begin working with all of you during the 2024-25 school year. As she embarks on this journey with you, she is dedicated to fostering a positive school community and culture that upholds the rich traditions of Franklin High School, home of the Wildcats.

She firmly believes that creating a strong and supportive environment for students and staff is paramount for success. With a focus on core values such as happiness, compassion, trust, hard work, respect, honesty, and kindness. She aims to build meaningful relationships and inspire a sense of school spirit that will resonate throughout our school community.

Franklin City School District’s Mission States:

The mission of the Franklin City Schools, a progressive, community-based school district, is to guarantee all students can grow, develop, and learn to their fullest potential by providing a challenging, individualized curriculum; an exemplary, compassionate staff; and a state-of-the-art, safe, and supportive learning environment.

With the FCSD’s mission as our foundation, she wants you to know that educating all students every day is her top priority. Her commitment to nurturing a healthy culture and positive relationships will be reflected in every decision she makes, including collaborating with staff, students, and parents, curriculum and instruction, disciplinary matters, and extracurricular activities, as well as throughout the music, art, and sports programs. She is wholeheartedly dedicated to ensuring that Franklin High School is a safe and inclusive space where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
