Mr. Greenwood

Thank you for taking the time to visit our district and school’s website!  Our school serves students in grades 1-6.  We typically have @ 300 students.  We take pride at Gerke trying to help our students succeed in and outside the classroom.  Our Mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.  We want to prepare students to be life-long learners.  We will communicate with parents and other stakeholders to best utilize resources.  We will strive to help our students achieve their future life goals.

Each year we assess our students at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year to see what progress they have made.  These assessments let us know if our students are “on track” or need intervention to acquire the skills necessary to be successful in any given grade.

Our PTO meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 P.M. in our library.  Two years ago we were able to get a new piece of playground equipment and new basketball goals and backboards thanks to our PTO and some grant writing that they did.

We are always striving to become better!  If you need assistance with anything, please don’t hesitate to call or email me: sgreenwood@franklincityschools.com or 937-743-8650 or our school secretary, Mrs. Johnson: sjohnson2@franklincityschools.com.  You can email our staff directly through the directory section on this website as well.

 Sincerely,

 Steve Greenwood
