Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Posted on: November 27, 2019 11:00 am

The City of Franklin and Forever Franklin, Inc. are excited to announce the first Community Christmas Tree Lighting Event to be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. The tree is in the City Building's back parking lot area near Riley Blvd.

To encourage a “Small-Town Christmas” atmosphere, the evening will include a decorating contest on Main Street. Downtown businesses and homeowners are invited to decorate their store(s) or home fronts to celebrate the holiday season and the beauty of our Main Street.

The schedule:
5 p.m. Stop at the City Building for a ballot and a warm beverage
5 to 6 p.m. Walk the downtown to see the decorations and vote for your favorite.
6 p.m. Ballots due at the City Building
6 p.m. Help Santa count down to the tree lighting.

A Christmas box will be at the entrance of the City Building that evening to place votes. Votes will be tallied and the winner announced during the lighting ceremony. The winner will receive a $100 gift card and the honor of being our first Small-Town Christmas decorating contest winner!
