Warren County Career Center
Warren County Career Center
Students are welcome to apply during their 10th grade year to attend the Career Center for 11th and 12th grade.
For a student's best chance of acceptance, students should strive to pass all their classes, attend school regularly, and make sure to take the following classes in 9th and 10th grade: 2 semesters of PE, Health and Public Speaking.
All sophomores attend a field trip to the Career Center in the fall of 10th grade.
- Late October / Early November - Career Center visits FHS to introduce lab options (presentation during ROAR)
- Mid-November - Field Trip to the Career Center
- November (immediately following the field trips) - application opens.
- Early December - Open House at the Career Center
For 10th grade students who are interested in applying to attend the Warren County Career Center next year, the application opens in mid-November! If the student knows they are DEFINITELY interested in going there next year, students should apply during the priority deadline (meaning if they apply by a set deadline, they will be considered higher on the list than someone who applies late).
Career Center counselors will be at FHS (usually in March) to meet with accepted sophomores and help students choose their 11th grade courses.
Accepted students will then attend Welcome Day at the Career Center in early April. This is a full day field trip giving students the opportunity to spend the day in their program to see up close what a day will look and feel like.
